Here are links to some of our
                favorite websites about
children's
books, writing, and just plain cool stuff.

The
Children's Book Council -- a nonprofit organization dedicated
to children's books. It has links to publisher, writers and illustrators,
as well as articles and news.
              Society
of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators -- a great organization
for people interested in creating books for children
              The
Purple Crayon -- a terrific reference
and resource for anyone interested in children's books. The site
has an interview and an article by WINC member Jacqueline K. Ogburn.
              Wildacres
is a marvelous retreat center in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If
a week devoted to writing sounds like your idea of a good time,
then check out the writers' workshops.
              The North
Carolina Writers' Network has one of the best slogans ever:
                "Writing and Reading: Everybody's Art."
              American Library
Association Libraries -- we love 'em and we need 'em, now
                more than ever.
